I'm just back (noon) from a great morning of birding at Blendon Woods Metro Park in Columbus. Several people contributed to the following list and no one saw everything! Here is a list of birds of interest. Red-eyed Vireo Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Wood Thrush Warblers: Blue-winged Golden-winged (see below) Tennessee Nashville Northern Parula Yellow Chstnut-sided Magnolia Black-throated Blue Yellow-rumped Black-throated Green Blackburnian Palm Blackpoll Black-and-white American Redstart Ovenbird Hooded Scarlet Tanager Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I saw the Golden-winged Warbler at about 10:45 on the north side of the road (as you're leaving the park) half way between the parking lot for the nature center and the first path which crosses the road. I was not able to relocate it for others. Maybe someone else will find it again. 18 warblers (and others may see more this afternoon) is a great day for Blendon Woods.
