Today I visited the northern portion of Hoover Reservoir in Delaware County (DeLorme 58 C2), Areas M and N. In Area N I found a Pileated Woodpecker, Warbling Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Palm Warbler, Prothonotary Warbler, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Baltimore Oriole, plus the usual common species. While in the area I checked the boardwalk in Area M for the recently reported Laughing Gulls. I didn't find them, but I did find three Common Terns and a basic plumaged Bonaparte's Gull, the latter of which seems a bit late for central Ohio. One of the Ospreys was on the nest also.
