I had a single PINE SISKIN at my feeders at my hose in North Perry, Lake County today. It was my first of the spring. The feeders have been pretty good lately. I currently have a minimum of 11 ORCHARD ORIOLES coming, 4 -adult males, 4 -1st year males and 3 females. The variation in first year males is pretty interesting. There is a lot of variation. That is the absolute minimum, there may be more. I don't even want to guess at Baltimore orioles. There must be over 20. I also have at least 2 red-headed woodpeckers, a second year male and an adult male. There are also at least 10+ rose-breasted grosbeaks and at least 4 purple finch. What is missing are sparrows. I have had good numbers of white-throats and song sparrows, but thus far only single white-crowned and Lincoln's sparrows. Typically I usually have decent numbers of both. Warblers were pretty low again today with only a handful seen. I also had a single osprey. There are still a few red-breasted mergansers and common loons on the lake.
