It's been busy around, making my birding trips very short! It was nice to get out today...but it was so windy, it was difficult to hear/see anything moving besides the trees creaking above me! Nothing too unusual today, but I did see an immature Orchard Oriole, which was a bit confusing until I found it in the book! Anyways, here is the list! Location: DCP - Shawnee Prairie Preserve Observation date: 5/15/07 Notes: Very Windy Number of species: 23 Canada Goose Mourning Dove Chimney Swift Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Eastern Wood-Pewee Great Crested Flycatcher - Several Eastern Kingbird - 1 Red-eyed Vireo Blue Jay American Crow Blue-gray Gnatcatcher American Robin European Starling Common Yellowthroat - appears to be singing on territory...same location for past 3-4 days.
