This morning was spent monitoring my nest box trail. I made stops at Wiese Road, Dustin Road and Oxbow Road. The first bird of the morning was an adult Bald Eagle at Wiese Road with a RED leg band on the right leg. Could this be the male from the pair that tried to nest off Cleveland Avenue in Westerville? He was out done by my Prothonotary warblers as I tallied 29 counting both males and females. Observations of interest included: Wiese Road- Double-crested Cormorant Great Blue Heron Green Heron Wood Duck w/ducklings Osprey Bald Eagle (1 adult) Spotted Sandpiper Yellow-billed Cuckoo (2) Eastern Kingbird Gray Catbird (noted as I counted 19 there) Cedar waxwing White-eyed Vireo (3) Warbling Vireo Yellow Warbler (2) Magnolia Warbler (1) Prothonotary Warbler (8) Scarlet Tanager (1) Baltimore Oriole Dustin Road- Great Blue Heron Green Heron Wood Duck w/duckings Cooper's Hawk Yellow-billed Cuckoo (1) Barred Owl (1) Pileated Woodpecker (2) Acadian Flycatcher Great Crested Flycatcher Eastern Kingbird Cliff Swallow White-eyed Vireo (2) Yellow-throated Vireo (1) Warbling Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Nashville Warbler (1) Yellow Warbler (2) Prothonotary Warbler (14) Summer Tanager (2) Indigo Bunting Baltimore Oriole Oxbow Road- Double-crested Cormorant Great Blue Heron Green Heron Wood Duck Yellow-billed Cuckoo (2) Great Crested Flycatcher Northern Rough-winged Swallow Wood Thrush Cedar waxwing White-eyed Vireo (2) Warbling Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Yellow Warbler (4) Black-throated Green Warbler (2) Prothonotary Warbler (7) Common Yellowthroat (2) Orchard Oriole (1) Baltimore Oriole Charlie Bombaci Hoover Nature Preserve Delorme 58 C (2) & (3) ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
