Hi all, Sorry for the tardy post. The group leader is having trouble posting. On Monday morning, 5/7, Columbus Audubon led a group through Whetstone park in Columbus. Birds seen were: Indigo Bunting Cardinal Catbird Carolina Chickadee Brown-headed Cowbird Crow BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO a lifer for most of the group including myself Mourning Dove Wood Duck 1 drake w/ 2 hens in a Sycamore Great Egret (flyover) Blue-gray Gnatcatcher Goldfinch Common Grackle Rose-breasted Grosbeak Cooper's Hawk Blue Jay (nesting) Ruby-crowned Kinglet Red-breasted Nuthatch White-breasted Nuthatch Baltimore Oriole Robin House Sparrow Song Sparrow White-crowned Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Starling Scarlet Tanager (many) Swainson's Thrush Titmouse Veery Blue-headed Vireo Red-eyed Vireo Warbling Vireo Turkey Vulture Northern Parula Bay-breasted Warbler Black & White Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler Blackburnian Warbler Magnolia Warbler Nashville Warbler Yellow-rumped Warbler Yellow-throated Warbler Downy Woodpecker (nesting) Red-bellied Woodpecker Flicker House Wren Great-crested Flycatcher (many calling and gathering nesting material) Heard but not seen: Wood Thrush Black-throated Green Warbler As an addendum, I've returned to the park on subsequent mornings and seen: Ovenbird Black-throated Blue Tennessee Warbler B&W Warbler Canada Warbler Chestnut-sided Warbler Nashville Warbler Steve Pendleton Columbus ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
