Did a big day of sorts yesterday, 10+ hours of atlassing in the Peters and Pymatuning Creek areas. Bobolinks were seeming everywhere in habitat, much of which was being mowed throughout the day. A couple of times, in good-looking habitat I thought I heard a quick creeper song but I'm not sure. Not one purple finch but I couldn't stop at every conifer stand. The alder flies were in the only really good spot I saw. Yellow-bellied fly was singing and I hoped it was least but it came over to hear my recording and I got to see it and it "tuweed" it's way out of the OBBA II. Cliff swallows were nest-building on the beach building. Looked like someone had removed their previous work onto the floor by standing on picnic tables as well as padlocking decoy owls to the ceiling. We can't afford lifeguards (or soap for the bathrooms) but we pay people to remove bird nests from state park facilities? Nifty!!
