While working on some private land owned by ONU in southwestern Hardin Co., just north of Roundhead, I saw two singing Sedge Wrens and third not singing. This area was rich with sparrows a few weeks ago, including: Henslow's, Grasshopper, Savannah, Song, Swamp, Field, Vesper and Chipping. Yesterday wasn't as productive, sparrow-wise, but the Sedge Wrens were lifers for me. Other birds sighted yesterday: Canada Goose Wood Duck Mallard Hooded Merganser Ring-necked Pheasant Turkey Vulture Red-tailed Hawk Killdeer Mourning Dove Yellow-billed Cuckoo Chimney Swift Red-bellied Woodpecker Eastern Wood Pewee Willow Flycatcher Eastern Kingbird Red-eyed Vireo Blue Jay American Crow Barn Swallow Tree Swallow White-breasted Nuthatch House Wren SEDGE WREN American Robin Gray Catbird Common Yellowthroat Yellow Warbler Eastern Towhee Field Sparrow Henslow's Sparrow Song Sparrow Northern Cardinal Indigo Bunting Dickcissel Bobolink Red-winged Blackbird Eastern Meadowlark Common Grackle Brown-headed Cowbird Baltimore Oriole American Goldfinch European Starling Chris Caprette Harrod, Allen Co. --------------------------------- Looking for a deal?
