I checked out the east shore of Hoover Reservoir yesterday for shorebirds. It's really shaping up nicely at this point, as there is a lot of exposed mud. There wasn't anything spectacular, but the numbers seemed pretty good. There were 9 shorebird species in total. Killdeer - 220 Least Sandpiper - 40 Semipalmated Sandpiper - 8 Semipalmated Plover - 1 Solitary Sandpiper - 6 Spotted Sandpiper - 29 Lesser Yellowlegs - 41 Greater Yellowlegs - 1 Pectoral Sandpiper - 6 Caspian Tern - 8 Good birding, John -- John Kuenzli Columbus, OH ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
