There were more than 100 Ring-billed Gulls on Caesar Creek beach this morning. As the summer resident flock builds up it often attracts less common gulls and shorebirds. There were 7 Killdeer also present and making enough noise for three times as many.

The pond near the viewing platform had 2 Solitary Sandpipers working the edge which provides limited but good shorebird habitat. I hope these are the vanguard of many more species to come. There were also 6 more Killdeer feeding in the mud.
