Yesterday (31 Aug), I was banding birds with Bob Thobaben at his farm in
Clinton County. We had a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, which we could not have
positively identified had we not had the bird in the hand for half an hour.
We also caught a Tennessee Warbler and a Swainson's Thrush, both quite
early.

This morning (1 Sep), my wife noticed a Red-breasted Nuthatch (RBNU) at our
feeders and I managed to get several good pictures of it. This is my
earliest RBNU in southern Ohio by two weeks. According to Peterjohn, a
sighting this early is characteristic of an invasion year.

Cheers,

Bob
