Skies were sunny when we arrived and became cloudy around 5:30 with rain around 6:30. Wind was from the SW when we arrived and switched to the NW around 5:30. Water was pushed into the harbor and most of the sandbars and much of the beach were covered. One would think birding would be great under these conditions but that was not the case. I think we had less than a dozen shorebirds. There were no terns and gull numbers were not great. Here are the results: Least Sandpiper - 1 or 2 Semipalm Sandpiper - 1 Pectoral Sandpiper - 1 Semipalm Plover - 1 Killdeer - 1 Lesser Yellowlegs - 2 Sanderling - 2 Regards, Walt and Dana Shaffer Pittsburgh, Pa ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
