Check out this website! A back issue of Winging It had a little blurb about it and I finally got around to taking a look at it. It is a really great source for finding places to bird that have easy access for those who can't (or don't want to) do strenuous walking. When I clicked on Ohio, I found most of the expected sites, ie Magee Marsh, Sheldon Marsh, Metzger Marsh, etc., most in the northwest part of the state. But the neat thing is that the web-master is looking for more additions. I bet we all know of at least 1 local place, such as a park or nature center, that is not listed. I was able to add a state park & a nature center, both located in Stark County, that have boardwalks & easy, level hiking paths. I also discovered the web-site didn't know about the boardwalk at Hoover Resv., so I added it. Some others I can think of but don't really know much about include Green Lawn Cemetery, many paved biking paths around the state, metro parks in all the big cities and on & on. I am sure there are a lot more places in Ohio that should be added to this list. And the list is a great way to find places to bird, both near & far, whatever your physical abilities. Ohio is a really great place to find good birding. Let's do all that we can to get the word out.
