Hi , I returned to Heritage Trail today and was mainly looking for any warblers and hummingbirds in migration. I could not locate the resident Common Yellowthroat which was on territory most of the late spring and summer just NW of the Heritage Trail parking area. The monarchs were out in force again as well as 4 Cloudless Sulphurs that were seen on the"rough trail " north of the parking area. As a kid growing up in suburban Chicago,Illinois, I caught several of these as well as 1 or 2 of the rarer Little Sulphurs. However, the orange-barred sulphurs and gulf fritillaries are still my target species to document if they make it this far north.
