Greetings---well, it really felt like Fall this morning up at Conneaut. The species mix looked like it, too. Very few shorebirds or terns there. Not a single swallow. and passerines were nearly absent. Since it was blowing a gale, perhaps they were all seeking shelter. L. Erie was oceanic, but did not yield a jaeger or any unusual gulls. In fact, only 1 imm. Bonaparte's gull and no great black-backs. The highlights were: 3 n. pintails, 3 Am. wigeon, 8 green-winged teal, hen greater scaup, common merganser, 2 black-crowned night-herons, osprey, bald eagle, and sanderlings. I took a look at the Ashtabula Co. Airport, but there weren't even any killdeers there. Then on to Mosquito L. The water was up some, and the mudflats were mostly under water. I did find: hooded merganser, pied-billed grebe, 21 great egrets, Am. coot, and a few of the common shorebirds. Later, Craig --------------------------------- Got a little couch potato?
