Greetings all,

I took this morning to make a run through the Black
Swamp Nature Center in Paulding County this morning.
Bird numbers were respectable, while mosquito numbers
were declining. Not a lot in the way of warblers (a
lone Blackburnian in the trees along the stream), no
thrushes aside from Robin, and no Red-breasted
Nuthatches. The best find was a pair of female Rusty
Blackbirds foraging near the old dam. Here is the
entire trip list:

1. Great Blue Heron
2. Mallard
3. Turkey Vulture
4. Killdeer
5. Rock Pigeon
6. Mourning Dove
7. Red-headed Woodpecker
8. Red-bellied Woodpecker
9. Downy Woodpecker
10. Eastern Wood Pewee
11. Blue Jay
12. Tree Swallows
13. Chickadee sp.
14. White-breasted Nuthatch
15. American Robin
16. Gray Catbird
17. Blackburnian Warbler
18. Northern Cardinal
19. Rusty Blackbird
20. American Goldfinch

Thanks for reading and happy birding!

- Scott Myers, Paulding
