I spent some time poking around the Wilds (Muskingum County) today and found more waterfowl than raptors. I did get great looks at a male Harrier. No Rough-legged Hawks or Golden Eagle yet. There were a lot of vultures high in the sky, and some birds I couldnt ID becasue they were merely a speck in the scope. It was windy enough to nearly blow my scope over. Highlights were: Ring-necked Duck - 34 Ruddy Duck - 7 Gadwall - 7 Mallard - 23 American Black Duck - 2 Green-winged Teal - 5 Pie-billed Grebe - 9 Least Sandpiper - 1 Greater Yellowlegs - 1 Eastern Meadowlark - 1 Savanah Sparrow - 1 Harrier - 6 Red-tailed Hawk - 7 American Kestrel - 4 Turkey Vulture - 150+ Glen Crippen Burr Oak Lake ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
