Hello All, I just received a cell call from John Habig who asked if I'd post this sighting so that others in the area might have a chance to see this LeConte's Sparrow yet today. The bird was seen from inside the observation blind in some vegetation at the end of a line of brush, not far from the blind. This observation blind is in the area of the mudflats where the Black-necked Stilt and Tri-colored Heron were seen earlier this Spring. The is also near the marina and sailboat parking lot. If there isn't enough time for you to get out there today, you might want to try in the morning. Good luck, and good birding!
