The fall wood-warbler migration seems about over here at the Highlands Nature Sanctuary in southern Ohio. The big mixed species warbler flocks have departed and only a few stragglers are passing through. The mixed species flocks are now dominated by kinglets.

But I noticed this fall that about 50% of the warblers I observed were black-throated green warblers. I am recently returned to Ohio and this is my first fall migration here in over two decades. Is this normal, or was this a boom year for black-throated greens?
