I had a white-winged crossbill at my feeder this morning. The bird appeared
to be a young male. It appeared just after sun-up and was present for about
a half hour. It repeatedly fluttered at the sunflower feeder, but only
landed once and then only briefly. I also had a single common redpoll at
the feeders about the same time. The redpoll occasionally fed at the
thistle feeder. It left by 8:00 and neither was seen after. I also hand a
small number of siskins this afternoon.
