While I was walking my dog yesterday (Nov. 23) I heard high pitched sounds
that I thought at first might be young coyotes or dogs at a distance, then
as they got closer I could tell the sound was above me. Very high up was a
flock (over 50) of large light colored birds flying in a shallow arc, not a
V like geese do. I had a hard time finding them because they were so high
and light colored. They were headed east toward Pennsyvania and maybe the
Atlantic coast. I thought maybe sandhill cranes. Does anyone have an idea on
these birds? This was in northwestern Harrison Cty about 4:00 P.M.
