Huffman Metropark is part of the Dayton Five Rivers Metroparks system.

I decided to play hooky during my weekend errands, and visited the park on 11/3 from noon - 2
pm.

There were:
6 double-crested cormorants *
15 ring-billed gulls *
2 belted kingfisher *
song sparrow *
wood duck
northern flicker * (nest cavity found)
mallard *
northern cardinal *
downy woodpecker
pileated woodpecker
tufted titmouse
dark-eyed junco
mourning dove *
a flock of Canada goose *
white-breasted nuthatch *
Cooper's hawk (watched it hunt, and saw it just miss getting a bird on the wing)
turkey vulture

Two weeks before (10/21), I saw all of the birds above with an asterick at the same park. I also
saw:

American robin
great blue heron
American goldfinch
ruby-crowned kinglet
yellow-rumped warbler
common starling
blue jay
