Today at 5:00 Rick Asamoto and I found a Red-necked Grebe off the Furnace Road Boat Ramp. It was with 5 Horned Grebes. This boat ramp is across SR 73 from where the goshawk was reported a month ago. To get better looks at the grebe we had to go over to the day lodge off of Clarksville Road and walk down to the lake. There we had better light to get the ID. Coming from I-71 you cross the lake and turn left (at the Park sign) to get to this ramp. Other birds from this ramp were: Common Loon C. Goldeneye Mallard Black Duck Bufflehead Gadwall Merganser(sp?) From the north pool were: Gulls (mainly Ring Bill with some Bonaparte's) Horned Grebe Mallard Ruddy Duck A. Coot Common Loon We did not see any scoters or the Red-throated Loon. Neither of us went to Harveysburg Road. Rick and Lara Gara had Snow Buntings and Lapland Longspurs around the Middletown Road area.
