Hi all, Some belated reports to augment last Friday's impressive movements of Sandhill Cranes through Friday. Sorry I couldn't post earlier; have been e-mail incommunicado down at Deer Creek for the OOS/TNC Bird Conservation Symposium. On my way there last Friday morning, I was exiting the McDonalds on Henderson Rd. in Columbus with my morning java, and was stunned to hear the calls of cranes as I walked out. Forty birds were winging fairly low overhead on a SW course; not a sight one sees often in urban Columbus. Later that day, at least 130 cranes were seen by many of the conference participants flying over the Deer Creek lodge, and I heard of several other reports. Friday was clearly a day of - for us - massive Sandhill Crane movements. Jim Jim McCormac Columbus, Ohio Like nature? Visit my blog: http://jimmccormac.blogspot.com/ Like birds?
