Mary and I enjoyed pleasant afternoon walks today at Hoover Meadows and along the abandoned road on the east side of Hoover Reservoir north of the Yacht Club. Birds were mostly the usual suspects except for a flock of 60+ *northern pintails *feeding in the shallows. When we saw them, the flock was well south of the boardwalk area almost straight out from the short path that runs from the abandoned road to the water just past the forest of plastic tubes protecting newly-planted trees. The flock also contained numerous mallards and a few black ducks. -- Bill Heck ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
