Hey all - After searching the Coliseum grounds for the reported shrike without success, I stopped to check the status of the waxwing flocks and such at Oak Hill. I was bummed to see that most of the berry trees had been stripped and was turning around to head out, when low and behold there it was - a beautiful adult NORTHERN SHRIKE tee-d up along the entrance road. I watched it for several minutes and even witnessed it yack up a pellet. The Oak Hill area is off Oak Hill Road in the CVNP. Hard to say if this is the same bird from the Coliseum...it's only a couple miles as the shrike flies. Very merry holidays to all...
