Early this afternoon I spotted two immature Bald Eagles in the field across from our driveway, attracted there by a dead deer. As I watched, another eagle soared in, this one a mature one except it had dark marks around its eyes. It landed in the field, and then all three looked skyward, and two more mature eagles soared in and landed in the field. Though I was in my car, they were obviously distracted by my being there, so I left them to their feeding. I occasionally see an eagle flying over our fields, but this is the first time I have seen this many! What a thrill! Might this be an extended family of eagles?
