Having just read Bill Whan's report about the Kingston CBC I thought
I'd add a bit. We thought our four-woman team did rather well given
the wind and later in the day snow. We saw 38 species which is about
average for our area. I am thinking that our area must be next to
Bill's. We did not see his large numbers of blackbirds. But, we did
see small numbers of Common Grackles, Brown-headed Cowbirds and Red-
winged Blackbirds. In one small flock of about 100 starlings, 12
cowbirds and 12 red-wings we had five Brewer's Blackbirds. We were on
Kingston/Adelphi Rd aka the county line between Whisler Rd. and
Bowsher Rd. First thing in the morning I had seen an Eastern
Meadowlark and so I had a five blackbird day. We also saw our only
Rough-legged Hawk along that same stretch of road - on the south side.

Good birding in 2008!
