Hi Folks! Not sure what to speak about first, but I will start with tomorrow is the Ottawa NWR CBC. People are meeting at the trail parking lot at 0800 to disperse from there. This morning a Clay-colored Sparrow was spotted twice at our feeder on Bodi Rd. first white house on east side from SR 2 east of Crane Creek State Park/Magee Marsh W/A. It was seen early this morning hanging out with a couple Field Sparrows and a lot of Am. Tree Sparrows. About an hour ago it was out there again with E. House Sparrows. The feeder was empty so I filled it and had not seen it after that. Anyone is welcome to check it out but please view it from the road. The feeders are on the south side of the house. I also ventured to Ottawa NWR walking my dog this morning and had the great opportunity of viewing an immature Sharp-shinned Hawk fly into a flock of Am. Tree Sparrows. It flew right over my head with a catch! So many good things to see in January! Hmmm. And it is a good opportunity to help out with the Ohio Winter Bird Atlas Project. Check out more information about how you can help with the Winter Bird Atlas Project on Black Swamp Bird Observatory's Website www.bsbobird.org <http://www.bsbobird.org/> Have a good day, Julie Shieldcastle Black Swamp Bird Observatory ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
