I was walking in Sheldon's Marsh along Lake Erie yesterday (Saturday) around noon. In addition to the usual birds, at the end of the path nearest the lake I saw two Canada Geese with orange neck-collars sitting with many uncollared geese on the shore. They were too far away to read the alphanumerics. On the west side of the spit of land there was what appeared to be a White-fronted Goose or a Canada/White-fronted Goose hybrid. It had the orangish legs, feet, and bill, and a white band at the base of the bill of a White-fronted Goose but the body resembled that of a Canada Goose: light breast and belly without the black barring of a White-fronted Goose, and a dark neck.
