A first for me, a red shouldered hawk just tried to get suet from my
suet basket.

He didn't fare well, dangling upside down and flapping as he tried to
get stabilized on
the wire frame.

Now, accompanied by three crows he's perched on a tree limb nearby. I
hope he's not
contemplating another try after two failures. I might remove the
suet....

Some of the birds that are around the feeders:
White throated sparrows - 3
Song Sparrows - 3
Tree Sparrows - 25
Dark Eyed Juncos - 30
Pileated Woodpeckers - 2
Hairy Woodpeckers - 2
Wild Turkeys - 30

And in the fields:
Bluebirds 4 with 1 Robin (eating rose hips from the all too abundant
multiflora rose)
