There was one woodcock calling and displaying at my house on Tuesday
evening. This morning it was -5 degrees with about 3 inches of snow on the
ground. How does a worm-eating bird survive during cold weather like this?

I am finally going to make the trip to Killdeer Plains on Saturday to track
down a Long-eared Owl. I'm sure it's been posted many times before, but can
I get directions to the "alternate" pine grove where everyone has been
seeing them lately?
THANKS! for your help.
