The Darke County Birders spent 1/2 day yesterday afternoon looking for unusual species in our area. At the Darke Wildlife Area, we relocated the 2 long eared owls found in Dec. 2007 At West Manchester, we found 1 Eurasian Collared Dove and the other white dove in the same cornfield that John Habig found them in in his 1/12/2008 post. At Wayne Lakes, we refound the male common golden eye that member Cindy Ploch found earlier this week. Other birds included: Canada geese mallards Com. Golden Eye redtail hawk kestrel redbelly woodpecker downy hairy bluejay crow horned larks C.
