Shane Egleston and I birded the lakes at these three state parks today finding a nice assortment of waterfowl. Highlights were single Common Loons at Cowan and Rocky Fork, 2 Cormorants at Caesar Creek, 1 Phoebe at Rocky Fork. At least 1 White-winged Scoter is still at Cowan. We also saw an adult Cooper's hawk on an apparently freshly killed Coot at Rocky Fork and a dozen or so Black Vultures feasting on a deer carcass at Cowan. Waterfowl are listed below, Canada Geese and Coots were seen at all three lakes.
