I arrived at the intersection of Albrecht and Fowl Roads just north of the airport at about 7:30 pm. Two very happy ladies were already on one of the Short Eared Owls which was perched on the ground in the field. Almost immediately as I got a look at the owl, one and then another were in the air flying around the first house. At one point three of the owls were gliding around the field giving us quite a show. After about 15 minutes, two of them gained some altitude and swung south, and over the fence and into airport property. We shared great looks of the owls in scopes and through binos, both gliding and in a variety of perches. We also had good looks at a male Northern Harrier, and discussed the other raptors seen which included Red Tailed Hawks, and a couple Rough- legged Hawks. Other birds of interest included Canada Geese, Robins, and Red-winged Blackbirds. There were also hundreds of gulls in all of the fields and streaming overhead. See you on the trails, Chris Pierce N.
