WOW! Grand Lake is teeming with waterfowl! This evening we found a Surf Scoter!! He was seen from Sandy Beach which is on the north shore near the Nazarene Church Camp (just to the west of there). Of course, he was much too fast for any photos!! AND we also found a different gull mixed in with the Herring and Ringbilled Gulls seen from OH364 in the little pond to the west and can also be seen from East Bank Park drive. We believe it MAY be a yellow footed Gull. I took some photos and will try to post them on the OOS site. Please help confirm OR deny our finding. Sorry for the photos - I am a picture taker NOT a photographer!! There are many, many Horned Grebes - one is acquiring his summer plumage. And there are several Common Loons and Redbreasted Mergansers. Hope someone can tell us what this gull is "for sure". Think Spring!!!
