Boy, did the snow bring in the birds today!! In my yard, I had a dozen robins(unusual for me), twice the starlings as usual, 10-20 common grackles, 20-30 redwing blackbirds, and a possible rusty blackbird. I've never seen one before, but it was about the size of a redwing, all black, yellow eyes, dark beak, and I think dark legs. Couldn't get a good comparison on size as it kinda stayed off by itself. Also, the usual dozens of downy, hairy, and red bellied woodpeckers, a pileated, a northern flicker, many american tree sparrows, a song sparrow, juncos, house finches, goldfinches, white breasted nuthatches, chickadees, titmice, cardinals, a few blue jays, and a FOX SPARROW! Had one last year at almost the same time. And to top it off, a red shouldered hawk was here twice, seems to like our yard lately.
