My dad and I birded Hoover Reservoir for 2 hours this morning after seeing Jack Stenger's post yesterday. At Hoover Dam we found that the RED-THROATED LOON he reported was still around and cooperated nicely by simply sitting and preening itself rather than diving. Also at the Dam was a single EARED GREBE with a beautiful dark face and neck. Several Horned Grebes were nearby allowing for a great comparison. We were unable to relocate either of the two Red-necked Grebe's that were posted yesterday. However, we did not have as much time as I would have liked to spend looking for them. Other birds included several species of duck, 2 Common Loons (breeding plumage) that were calling to each other, a single Tree Swallow, and 1 Eastern Phoebe. Good Birding!
