I'm home from work this afternoon thanks to a complete power and phone outage at the office (in Akron) due to an ice storm last night. Like Bob Beason reported, I also have a single Fox Sparrow scratching beneath my feeders here north of Dover. I'm normally not here during the day but haven't seen this bird before now. Also have a single grackle at the feeders as well as robins and cedar waxwings working over the berries on the holly bushes. I had large numbers of Dark-eyed Juncos and American Tree Sparrows, especially; also Song Sparrows, White-crowned Sparrows, Red-winged Blackbirds (males only), Common Grackles (males only), Brown-headed cowbirds (male and female), European Starlings, House Sparrow, Mourning Dove, American Goldfinch, Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse. My first-time visitors were at least 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches and a Fox Sparrow. The Fox Sparrow sat in the sunshine and I was able to get some photos out the window.
