On the way home from work I stopped at Antrim Park to do some birding. Robins were most numerous there but there was no short supply of White- Breasted Nuthatches or Carolina Chickadees. I went down the path that runs along the Olentangy River. There was a Great Blue Heron fishing as well as a Kingfisher. On a sycamore tree that reaches out over the water was a male/ female pair of Wood Ducks standing on a branch looking around. They were probably looking for a suitable nesting cavity. As I was standing there looking at the Wood Ducks, I saw something that appeared to be a log in the water but then I noticed it was moving upstream. I moved closer to observe it scaring the ducks away. What I saw was a beaver. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
