Evening walks at Furnace Run (Summit Co. Metroparks) today yielded two firsts: my first Yellow Warbler of the season (main park area between pond and stream by road) and also my first blue headed vireo (daffodil trail). Also rans were: belted kingfisher yellow rumped warblers (5) blue gray gnatcatchers (2) downy, hairy, red bellied and flicker woodpeckers white breasted nuthatches bc chickadees swamp sparrow pair cowbirds on the ground so involved in courting they paid no heed to me walking within 15 feet. loads of robins, cardinals, blue jays, crows, redwings, titmouses, song sparrows, you get the drill. a few canada geese and mallards on the pond Thousands of daffodils are at peak bloom @ Furnace Run's daffodil trail on Brush Rd.
