Good Morning Everyone, It was a great morning in Shawnee Forest. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and I saw a grand total of 5 other people in the 3 hours I spent driving the roads. I saw a total of 6 species of warblers, not including Yellow-Rumped! The species that I saw were Yellow-throated Warbler, Black and White Warbler, Ovenbird, Louisiana Waterthrush, Prairie Warbler, and American Redstart. I also saw Blue-headed Vireo, White-eyed Vireo, Wood Thrush, Ruby Crowned Kinglet, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Brown Thrasher, annd Wild Turkey. I heard quite a few grouse drumming. Shawnee is just a wonderful place to bird. I know that places along Lake Erie may concentrate migrants in spectacular ways, but for an all around great birding experience it is hard to beat Shawnee. If you have never been there, you really should check it out this spring. Good birding, Brad Sparks Reynoldsburg __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?
