Just got off the phone with Joe Hammond, who was looking at two Eurasian collared-doves copulating on a utility line along Rte 53 just south of Fort Seneca. The wire was across the road from a house numbered 5581. He watched them long enough to discern the dark folded primaries, the three-toned upperwing, and the dark on the undertail coverts that extended distally along the outer primaries. While we were talking, these birds were several times approached by an almost white bird, apparently a ringed turtle-dove, and they repeatedly chased it away. A first record for Seneca Co, I think, and it looks like there will soon be more...
