Quick highlights (too tired to type...): LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE - Rt 19, 1/2 mile or so south of Rt 2; turn at the abandoned red & white ice cream shop; sitting on wire next to the road for most of the day, from what I heard Magee - 22 warbler sp., including Mourning & Orange-crowned (I missed the Connecticut, but there was at least one seen), all thrushes, YB Cuckoo Metzger - 10 Black Terns off causeway - woods were desolate - Ruddy Turnstones on the beach Pipe Creek - more action than Magee: - good number of warblers including Orange-crowned, Prothonotary, & Canada (2) - GLOSSY IBIS (2) - lots of lingering waterfowl for you procrastinating Big Dayers - Gadwall (2), Blue-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Ring-necked Duck (fem), Lesser Scaup (6), Hooded Merganser (2 fem w/broods), Ruddy Duck (3), & Horned Grebe (2) Lorain Harbor - the wetlands creation here is shaping up quite nicely, it won't be long before this spot is back on the birding map - American Wigeon, Blue-winged Teal, Lesser Scaup (2) - Black-crowned Night-Heron - shorebirds: Greater Yellowlegs (3), Least Sandpiper (6), Pectoral Sandpiper (1), Dunlin (34) - warblers & Red-breasted Nuthatch in the woods Good birding - Gabe Leidy Cleveland ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
