Heard some hideous hissing outside our window at 10:00pm so I took my spotlight and dog out and found six, very awkward-looking, baby screech owls perched in a beech tree. These were obviously different than the five I found two days ago. Tonight's were much younger, covered in downy white feathers. Their vocal abilities would make a henslow's sparrow sound quite melodious!
