Greetings, How refreshing to open the windows to a pleasant cool temperature. The birds must have loved this change or at least they did here in Wakeman, Lorain County. We started the morning with the appearance of Great Crested Flycatcher Louisiana Water Thrush Scarlet Tanager Hummingbirds (3) Goldfinches House Finches Robins (3) WB Nuthatches (2) Chickadees (3) Chipping Sparrow N Cardinal (2) Mourning Dove (2) Titmice For those of you who may be interested, we also have noticed a decline in RT Hummingbirds. With several feeders in the front and back of the house, we have only had a high count of 3 this summer. Normally we find an abundance of RTH on Green Road roadside opposite the Boy Scout Field. A trip yesterday morning turned up no hummers although several Yellow Warblers and Common Yellow Throats were seen in the area. Catbirds were also abundant as were Indigo Buntings. The American Redstarts are once again present at the creek next to the Girl Scout pumping station. A lone Kingfisher was observed hunting at the former bridge. Happy birding Dorothy & Doug ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
