For details and pointers see: http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php REDDISH EGRET: The bird was present on the 14th at the sand spit at Conneaut Harbor, Ashtabula County, but could not be located on the 16th. Yellow-crowned Night-Heron: Bill Whan passed along word that the Preston Road nests in Bexley have five young now, and that an adult was seen foraging in Whetstone Park, Columbus, last weekend. MISSISSIPPI KITE: One was present near the fifth hole at the Brass Ring Golf Course, Logan, on the 18th according to a local golfer. BLACK RAIL: The most recent report of the rails calling at Charlie's Pond along Radcliffe Road in Pickaway County is from the 20th. For directions see the Ohio Ornithological Website: http://www.ohiobirds.org/birdingsites/showsite.php?Site_ID=44 LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE: Craig Holt found one along State Road at the very southwestern tip of Conneaut Township in Ashtabula County on the 16th. Bell's Vireo: The OSU west campus birds in Columbus were reported on the 15th. They are south of Lane Ave and west of the Carmac 5 parking lot on Carmac Road. The bird is in a patch of shrubby vegetation surrounding a fenced compound with satellite dishes. The birds along the bike path at the Ellis Lake Wetlands, West Chester, Butler County, were reported as building a nest on the 14th. They are between the Seward Road Parking lot and the circular parking area on Firebird lane. COMMON RAVEN: Rob and Sandy Harlan reported seeing one on the 15th in Jefferson County along County Road 45 in the vicinity of the Wal-Mart distribution center northwest of Steubenville.
