Hi all, Just wanted to clarify about that Bell's Vireo (I'm the one that found it). Hog creek does cross Pevee rd, and there's a bridge where i had figured I'd find some interesting birds, but it was actually about .1 miles closer to 81, like Aaron said, where a small stream runs under the road, that the vireo was singing, on the right side of the road, if your coming from 81, right where the coordinates show (I could see the bird when i took those coordinates). I'll be going out to try to find if the bird has a mate tomorrow or monday, so if anyone wants to see the bird, let me know. David Rankin just got done watching a territorial BELL'S VIREO in eastern Allen County just west of Ada. The bird was singing consistently for about 45 minutes from a willow tree in the riparian corridor along Hog Creek off of Pevee Road. Take Hwy 81 west out of Ada, cross the Allen/Hardin county line and turn north on Pevee Road. There are two riparian areas from Hog Creek that cross Pevee Rd but it appears that the vireo was hanging out in the area closer to Hwy 81. Paste the coordinates below into Google Maps for a good bird's eye view of the area. 40.78477 -83.90860 Good birding! -- Aaron Boone Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas II School of Environment & Natural Resources The Ohio State University 210 Kottman Hall 2021 Coffey Road Columbus, OH 43210-1085 614.247.6458 (office) www.ohiobirds.org/obba2/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
