I stopped at the Deer Creek Wildlife Area after work (southern most parking area on Egypt Pike) and walked to the wetlands. After looking at the shorebirds in the small grassy area in the pond to the right (south) I scanned the pond to the left for a while. When I looked back to the right I thought I was looking at the whitest immature Little Blue Heron I'd ever seen. After looking at it more closely and consulting the field guide I realized it was an immature Snowy Egret - all white plumage, yellow lores, dark straight bill (though the lower mandible was yellowish near the base) and feeding actively. Shorebirds present were 3 Least , 1 Pectoral, 3 Spotted Sandpipers, 4 Lesser Yellowlegs, 15 Killdeer.
