I counted about 18 bobolinks at Frohring Meadows this morning. 11 Males. The meadows have recently been cut, and the birds are concentrated in the remaining uncut section. I didn't have a scope, and couldn't tell if there were any immature birds. Also saw six Savannah sparrows along the unpaved trail. They are reliably present along the paths, by the marsh and in the fields. Does anyone have any information on the park's mowing schedule, and whether the bobolinks are a consideration in the timing?
